Large group in MD close to DC is looking to add 2 OBGYN Hospitalists to their group of 5. Responsibilities include covering ER walk-ins, uninsured patients, and private practitioner’s patients. Physicians would be doing 1 24hr in-house shift, 1 12hr in-house shift weekly and 4-6hrs of clinic per week during that shift and 1 12hr backup shift from home (and you need to be within 30 minutes driving distance of the hospital). The program is averaging 150 deliveries monthly and is very busy. The 250-bed community-based facility has a level II nursery with all services in-house including in-house anesthesia, neonatal, pediatrics. They also have an amazing and supportive nursing staff. Physicians will be doing OB and GYN surgery which is unusual for a hospitalist role where typically they only do OB.
