OBGYN opportunity in Northern CA’s central valley. City of 78K close to Modesto and 1.5 hrs. from SF and Sacramento. There are 5 OBGYN in the community and 2 of the groups are looking to add. 1 solo practitioner who has been in the community for 7 years is looking to add. She does about 350 deliveries annually and good mix of GYN. She is a skilled surgeon and is interested in hiring someone with strong surgical skills and an interest in complicated GYN cases. The two physicians will scrub together and will share call with each other during the week and share call with the other physicians on the weekends so weekend coverage will be 1/6. The other group has 3 providers, 1 of whom is retiring. This group does about 700 deliveries annually and is looking for someone who will commit to the practice long term and eventually transition into a leadership position. The group does a good mix of OB and GYN and works out of 2 offices. They will share call of 1/3 during the week and all physicians cross cover on weekend so weekend coverage will be 1/6. Call with both practices is taken from home. The hospital they deliver out of has a medical staff is about 250 and a level II nursery with in-house anesthesia and pediatric services. they have a very close relationship with their sister hospital which has a level III nursery. They are looking for self-starters with ties to the area (ideally) and who are comfortable working in a fast-paced setting and servicing a higher Medicaid patient base. They also offer SOB, relocation, loan repayment, residency stipend and full benefits. Physicians will transition to an “eat what you kill” compensation package after the 1st year and should make as much if not more than they did in yr 1.
